Mosaic Tiles Are Unique
Mosaic tiles usually come in 2×2 inch squares; you can buy them
separately or already mounted on a mesh backing. Mosaic tile flooring
come either glazed or unglazed, and are made out of either ceramic or
porcelain. You can even use old tiles you find lying around, smash them
into small pieces and create a unique pattern on, for instance, a table
Both ceramic and porcelain are durable materials. However, as with
all tiles, you do have to take care during installation of the mesh
backed variety so that the tiles don’t get cracked. If mosaic tile
flooring is laid properly, it will last quite a long time.
Versatility Of Mosaic Tiles
Mosaic flooring is hard and easy to clean, which is why it is most
often used in kitchens, bathrooms and entryways. It is also very water
and bacteria resistant, and although it doesn’t necessarily need sealing
it will better protect the grouting if you do seal it. Most commercial
bathrooms are done in mosaic tile, due to its versatility. In addition,
mosaic tiles are very affordable. That means you don’t have to break the
bank to tile your entire kitchen or bathroom! Mosaic tiles, while not
quite as hard as marble or other similar flooring, can still be hard and
cold underfoot. Many people use area rugs to take the edge off, but you
may be hesitant to do this, especially if you have a pattern that you
made yourself and are keen to show off!
Mosaic Tile Advantages
Mosaic tile is very easy to maintain. However, the tiles may trap
more dirt than other types of flooring. For this reason, you will want
to vacuum the floor first to make sure that any trapped dirt or debris
is removed. Then use a damp mop with mild household detergent to clean.

I used SD Flooring & Design for both carpeting and vinyl work. I found that their pricing was pretty reasonable and I was happy with their selection. They brought in two different crews to do the work. The carpeting crew was great! They showed up on time, were polite, and made sure to explain everything to me. They cleaned up well after themselves as well. If it were the carpet crew alone, I would give them a 4 or a 5 for workmanship and customer service. However, the vinyl crew was terrible. The guy who did the work was extremely unreliable. He never showed up when he said he would. Even the boss was flaky and often came at the wrong time. This was frustrating to me because I don't live at this house, so every time they showed up at the wrong time, I had to drive about 20 minutes to go let them in. He was also really rude to me! He did not answer my questions. When he finished, I thought it was really poor workmanship. They are supposed to come back next week and fix the problems with the flooring. So, I guess we will see how it goes. I am still willing to give them a second chance, but I'm really disappointed with the crew so far. If you are thinking about using them, I would say that they are fine to buy from, but if you are looking for vinyl flooring, find your own contractor!
