Leading the way by constantly seeking new ways to recycle, reduce, reuse, recover and renew.
A lot of companies talk about being green. At Quick•Step® laminate
flooring, we’re making the effort to do what’s best. For our customers,
our business, our industry – and our planet.
When sourcing materials, we select renewable, fast-growing southern
pine exclusively for our U.S.-produced core boards. Seventy-four percent
of our U.S.-produced laminate boards are made of pre-consumer
(post-industrial) wood waste. And not one exotic tree is harvested from
the rainforest to create our beautiful exotic laminate floors.
During manufacturing, our rejected laminate flooring products are
integrated into our chipboard factory, reused by third-party
manufacturers or burned to serve as heat for the laminate process –
rather than going to a landfill. Wood waste from manufacturing is used
as bio-mass fuel for heating our factories.
Our patented locking system eliminates the introduction of VOC’s
typically associated with installation adhesives. All Quick•Step®
laminate wood flooring and laminate tile flooring manufactured after
January 1, 2009 are California 93120 Phase 1 compliant for formaldehyde

We say choose the laminate flooring that is rigorously tested, proven
by a third-party facility and guaranteed to be of the highest quality.
But we don’t expect you to take our word for it. That’s why we have the
NALFA Certification Seal. The Certification Seal proves that our floors
passed 10 very demanding performance tests. In addition, our floors
comply with all CARB (California Air Resource Board) requirements. We
offer the industry’s best quality laminate flooring available. Not
because we say so, but because the NALFA Certification Seal proves it.

I used SD Flooring & Design for both carpeting and vinyl work. I found that their pricing was pretty reasonable and I was happy with their selection. They brought in two different crews to do the work. The carpeting crew was great! They showed up on time, were polite, and made sure to explain everything to me. They cleaned up well after themselves as well. If it were the carpet crew alone, I would give them a 4 or a 5 for workmanship and customer service. However, the vinyl crew was terrible. The guy who did the work was extremely unreliable. He never showed up when he said he would. Even the boss was flaky and often came at the wrong time. This was frustrating to me because I don't live at this house, so every time they showed up at the wrong time, I had to drive about 20 minutes to go let them in. He was also really rude to me! He did not answer my questions. When he finished, I thought it was really poor workmanship. They are supposed to come back next week and fix the problems with the flooring. So, I guess we will see how it goes. I am still willing to give them a second chance, but I'm really disappointed with the crew so far. If you are thinking about using them, I would say that they are fine to buy from, but if you are looking for vinyl flooring, find your own contractor!
